We had some great adventures yesterday. I think the colour green appears in every photo here, so it deserves a mention! Our world is filled with all sorts of beautiful shades of green right now, and I love it! Signs of new life abound. My absolute favourite time of the year and Switzerland is an incredibly beautiful place to enjoy it in.
Eti took the girls outside yesterday for a little adventure, while I prepared lunch. They returned a while later with a beautiful bunch of freshly picked wildflowers (also one of my favourite things!), amongst which were some beautiful and rare muguet flowers (pictured above...and which I have just realised are also known as Lily of the Valley flowers...no wonder they smell so wonderful! *lightbulb moment*) which are only found in the month of May...and rather rarely at that. While the girls

When I got back it was apparent that the girls had no intentions of settling down to sleep, so we decided to go out together and return back down to the little lake we visited a couple of months ago...and my how it's changed! It was such a lovely, peaceful, magically-lit world to wander into. The girls had a great time throwing little stones into the lake with daddy. Lately they're becoming more aware of what they're allowed to do and what not. And often when they go to do something they know they shouldn't they wag their finger saying "No, no, no!" (and then usually precede to do it anyway!). As soon as Amélie saw the water she did exactly this...knowing that whenever we've been close to water we have to hold onto them to stop them going right in! Oops! Well, we have definite plans to rectify this (at least within safety!) this summer when it's really warm :o)
After a while we wandered away from the lake and into the forest. The sun was shining down through the thick leaf coverage creating the most beautiful soft dancing patterns of light. We spotted a lady holding a big bunch of muguets and soon found many hiding under the foliage. The girls had fun wandering through the undergrowth, walking over logs with daddy, picking up leaves and watching the water fall and rush down the hill. What a wonderful place to be!
I'm linking this post in to Simone's 'Best in Blog - Monday'...which is where we can link in our favourite posts from the last week and check out what other mums and families have been up to. I love Simone's blog Greatfun4kids...there you'll find endless ideas for fun and creativity with kids, great mummy wisdom all combined with real life honest up and down moments. I recommend you check it out. I just have to warn you...you could be there for hours :o)
