Thankful for...
A day that begins with a view like this...
...and then an email from Juliet at tartankiwi to let me know that I won this super cool handmade bag in her blog birthday giveaway! It's the first time I've won so it's very exciting. And I love anticipating coming post :)
Wow, this week seems to have flown by! It's been a bit of an indoors one here, with cool, rainy, foggy sort of days in the first part of the week. The Autumn colours are out in force and stunning! I've found myself wishing for some moments to explore when the light is just perfect to capture some of the sights. Breathtaking!
This came up on facebook a week or so ago and has stuck with me...
It was originally posted (but not written by) a guy who lives with his family in Ethiopia, helping put orphans and widows in families. They have a blog here. I'm inspired by how they live their lives. I liked what he said in the last entry... "It
made me realize that we need to stop questioning why so many live in
prosperity, while others go without, and, instead, start asking how we,
the blessed, can become a blessing." So true...
Absolutely loving this book and the fun ideas for families. I love the resources from Parents Inc. and think we're incredibly blessed to have access to such expertise and down-to-earth, practical suggestions in bringing up children. It really makes me excited about the coming months and years!
Loving these two and their adventures! I love to sit back and watch them quietly as they flick through their books, reading to themselves, talk to themselves while playing, and laugh and giggle with each other. And, as you can see...one in particular takes after her daddy's risk-taking...
I'm really thankful for their 18-month check up at the doctor's yesterday, which went very well! They continue to grow well and stay healthy, which I'm so thankful for! They also had their last two vaccinations after having around 20 each over the last 18 months! Now they can enjoy a break from needles until they're 6!
Eti surprised me with a beautiful bunch of flowers and a surprise little mid-afternoon visit home earlier this week. I love his heart and thoughtfulness to do this from time to time!
I'm really enjoying lots of creative inspiration from Megan at mousehouse I'm looking forward to following her Sewing for Beginners tutorials, but in the meantime have had some fun going through the girls toys and bits and pieces around the house to make up a colour book for the girls for Christmas!
I'm also looking forward for an evening out with Eti to see the new Tintin movie. Being a firm fan of Tintin comics growing up (and me for a few years!) we're keen to see it. Hopefully I'll follow the french ok enough!
These are just some things we've enjoyed from this week. I'll leave you with some photos of before-bed cupboard exploring from our two little adventurers lastnight...
Have a great weekend!!
