Rainy-cosy-inside-days

After an amazing run of beautiful, sunny Autumn days, today it rained all day. I love decisive weather. If it's going to be sunny, it's clear blue skies; if it's snowy, the snowflakes are falling all day... So today it rained and it was a cosy-inside-day, the kind I love, with glowing lamps, warmth, and inspiring me to make delicious-smelling things.

I'm on a bit of a muesli run at the moment! This morning I came across this recipe for granola on a recently discovered blog ivy nest. Seeing as I still had all of the ingredients and enjoy a good homemade muesli, I got busy chopping and measuring out the ingredients, and making sure it tasted ok of course :)

A little while later I noticed that the rain drops had a rather floaty-type appearance, beginning to look more like snowflakes, which got me all excited and ready for the first flurries of the season. My enthusiasm was short-lived as the rain persisted! But it reminded me of the snow-globe type weather, that I love, which will be here soon no doubt!

Meanwhile, two little adventurous, energetic girls climbed, opened, tipped out, read through, and discovered various things and areas throughout the living room and kitchen, quite excited at the sight of rain drops dripping into big puddles on the balcony. I love listening in on their chattering and giggling with each other.  Here they are in their 'snack seats' which they are quickly coming to associate with yummy afternoon food!

...and I found moments through out the day to sit down and work away at my new-found hobby of crochet. YES, crochet!! I have been so inspired by wonderful crochet creations that I've been admiring for a while, from herehere and here. So, with the help of a great Youtube tutorial for left-handers, I think I'm getting there...dreaming of blankets, cute little creatures and lots of colours...

Have a great rest of your week out there!

Beautiful photos! I'm so glad you tried the recipe and you've reminded me I need to make another batch. Love your little snow globe and I'm quite envious of your anticipated snow - we didn't get much here this year.

Thanks Rita & Tania! The muesli was delicious! Now I just have to get to the supermarket to top up my supplies for another batch :)
