I'm thankful for, and proud of, these two beautiful people. My youngest brother Jay is marrying his stunning Laura tomorrow (Saturday in NZ). I'm sad we can't be there celebrating with everyone. We're going to make do with skyping in during the reception...and hanging out for any photos and snippets of news :) Jay has a huge heart. I know he will love and treasure Laura for a lifetime. We can't wait to hear how your big day goes guys!!!
I'm so thankful for these two little people, who brighten up our lives and make us laugh countless times each day. Today they are 19 months old! What miracles they are and sources of joy. Lately they're into kissing and hiding things. I came home tonight after shopping this afternoon and Amélie greeted me with an upturned face to give me a welcome-home kiss :)
I'm thankful for an absolutely stunning day like this one, and such a beautiful view to enjoy right from our living room. The sun was out in full winter force causing the snow to melt into little rivers everywhere! I was also quite grateful for that, so that I didn't have to venture out and down our crazy-windy mountain road in the snow and ice.
I love the fact I finally captured some of my very own bokeh! Since spotting some earlier in the year I've been dreaming about being able to photograph my own :) As well as photographing dew drops, which are just so beautiful. I liken them to little upside down rain-globes. So when I spotted the melting snow on our clothes-horse this morning I jumped at the opportunity.
This pie brought some relief and a little smile at the funny looking bird I put together before popping it in the oven. Eti comes home for lunch each day, which is wonderful. Though, not being someone who loves cooking, and gets a bit carried away, often my meals aren't cooked enough by the time he arrives home hungry, or I just completely lose inspiration and ring him to pick up some bread at the bakery. But today I made my first chicken-pot-pie (recipe here) complete with pastry...and it worked...on time!!!
I've been having some fun the last couple of days wrapping our Christmas gifts. I love the giftwrap I found at IKEA...wrapping the gifts is almost as fun as the thought of giving them!
I loved these little guys as soon as I spotted them in a wood store in nearby France. At 1.90 Euro, I decided they needed to come home with me. I'm not sure what to do with them exactly, because the girls are a little young for them...but I'm sure they'll brighten up a little spot somewhere here at home, and will one day find their purpose :)
...and I was pleasantly surprised to find a little jar of cloves in the cupboard the other day, which instantly said clove orange. So it's now hanging up by the heater and is making our living room smell lovely and winter-Christmassy.
These are some of my thankful moments from this week. I hope yours has been a good one and that you all have a great weekend! xx
